Will Ebay's rew return policy lead to more "no refund" sales or will sellers wait the 14 d

I find 14 days a little much for returns if I were a seller.
If you buy a $20 Gold coin there is a lot of room for price changes as with many other coins of the same type.
Will we same more "no refunds" or more sellers offering 14 day money back auctions?

Fortunately the bullion category is exempt from the 14 day return policy when it comes to maximizing seller discounts.
No Way Out: Stimulus and Money Printing Are the Only Path Left
i have opted for the 14 day return policy although I do so in protest but it is my choice.
There are many things that can lead to the reduction of possible/actual returns: excellent images, feedback, communication, descriptions etc.
i personally think having a no-return option sends negative vibes to buyers and would possibly lead to more problems
than if they thought they at least had the option without having to contact ebay.
I'll skip right over listings with no returns as it is usually people living with a lot of fear and contempt as well as being overall much more
difficult to work with; so much so i'd nearly rather set myself on fire than to communicate with them.
i think i've seen mixed results on the type of return policy offered by sellers. I bet the sellers that do well offer the 14 day return.
.
A 14 day return policy encourages "window shopping" from coin buyers hoping to receive a better coin than pictured or described.

On the other hand, as a buyer I really don't want to buy with no return. Ebay's not as described policy is not that great as proven on the fake watch they stuck me with. As buyer I would only use American Express as a payment. They are getting me my money back.
I think this is a no win for buyers or sellers in the coin sales and a silly move on Ebay's part but then most everything they have done in the last few years is silly (except for the shareholders).

although I might make an exception for a PCGS slabbed coin (perhaps ... depending on the photo)
or it was VERY CHEAP (like less than $20) where it becomes basically a throwaway coin if I dont like it.
Are we as buyers allowed to cut side deals with a seller that we agree to return the coin in 1 day if we dont like it in hand
and after 1 day the return period is over (even if the sellers website says 14 days)
I would NEVER need 14 days or even 3 days to know if I wanted to return coin
I typically know that in about 5 minutes after getting it

That is just how I feel.
If you need more than a day or 2 to figure out a coin is not right for you, you should return it!

I agree.
3-5 days is plenty unless a prior agreement has been made between buyer and seller.
Or I just don't bid at all.
I guess I have bought about 100-200 items on ebay and have returned two, and would have legitimately won a SNAD case on both of them if it had come to that , so "no returns" isn't just going to scare off the buyers remorse return crowd.
<< <i>I love the idea of being able to buy coins with a 14 day return privilege so I can shop them around at a show and if I can't flip, I return it. Brilliant!
Get known for that and you will make the list. BTW I think I have had only one guy do that and he actually told me he did it.

<< <i>Only need $1000 dollar in sales, 14 day return, 1 day processing for 20% discount in June. I think sellers will choose the 14 day return policy. >>
The 14 day return policy is used to award an additional 5% discount to top rated seller fees. The initial 20% discount is not dependent on a 14 day return policy.
Per ebay:
"Top-rated sellers will get a bonus 5% final value fee discount for listings with 1-day handling and minimum 14-day return policy with money-back option. This bonus is in addition to the usual 20% Top-rated seller discount, which will still be applied on all Top-rated seller listings."

You could become an eBay Top-rated seller
Great news! The requirements to become an eBay Top-rated seller are opening up to include more sellers. Starting in June, the requirements for keeping or acquiring Top-rated status will change:
•The $3,000 annual sales requirement will be lowered to $1,000
•The minimum average Detailed Seller Rating requirement of 4.60 will be removed
•PowerSeller status will no longer be required
•Tracking must be uploaded to eBay within your stated handling time on 90% or more of your US transactions. Use eBay Labels and tracking info is uploaded automatically!
•20% final value fee discount for sellers who ship with 1-day handling and offer a 14 day or better return window with money-back option

The extra 5% was only for sellers who adopted the 14 day policy early and expires tomorrow 5/31. After that if you don't have the 1 day handling and 14 day return you will get the Top rated seller badge on your listing (woo hoo) but not the boost in best match or the discount.

I also like that it gives me a little time for a cross. I bought a nice CBH the other day, NGC AU58, but under magnification I saw some things that concerned me. I immediately shipped it to PCGS for a cross at any grade. If it comes back DNC for a BB issue then a 14-day return is really nice.

<< <i>14 days sounds like overkill, I agree. But speaking personally, sometimes I am gone for a week or more and can't take a look until I return.

I always had a return policy. However, I changed to a no return policy in reaction to their new regulation. Personally, I want everybody to be happy with the deal. I feel most buyers know within 10 min at the most. EBays extreme regulation is going to end up harming the very class it is designed to protect - the buyer.
Those sellers are going to longer handling times, less return window and less free shipping, DSR's be damned.
Ebay is counter productive with the new guidelines. A lot of GOOD sellers are fed up with Ebays hoops.
Ebays new breed of TRS only has to sell $1,000 a year ...but the all important stat is to ship and upload tracking info in ONE DAY. WhoopDdo. That little gold badge means bubkiss in 20 days.
How about a 14 day return policy with a 25% restocking fee?
I deal in bullion only on ebay. Glad they exempted it from the 14 day return policy.
