I used to get this on OGH gold all the time prior to upgrading to a DSLR and a Copystand... Drove me insane.
Also some of the older NGC slabs are heavily dimpled on clear acrylic that covers the coin and at an angle at times would create lil pock marks that looked like die rust!

On the subject of coin skin, here is a Jeff pulled from a roll search. The lines, or splashes of struck-through grease, give this nickel an interesting look.
Something similar happened with the Presidential Proof Dollars about 5 years back where the plastic housing made them look like they were covered in lathe lines.

See the haze spot on the slab right under L in Liberty and how the lines are still there?
It's something your picking up with your point and shoot camera doing angle shots as these lines are common on OGH's.
