Do your friends give you coins instead of paper currency for gifts?
A friend owed me a little bit of change for some automotive work I paid for about two years ago. I honestly never expected to get it back, and didn't care if I didn't. Tanya was at our backyard barbecue after church and surprised me with 4 rolls of State quarters. "Bless you", I said.
Here they are lined up with some of my other state quarters on a lab bench I got from the university I used to work at. I wonder if I'll get something for Father's Day

You may find some error coins
I've been gifted coins by family members. Never currency.

In all the years I have collected coins, only my Mother ever gave me a coin gift....and that was a colorized ASE. Of course, that is a treasure, just because it came from Mom. Other than that, although most of my family and friends know I collect coins, no coin gifts. That is probably a good thing though, since none of them are coin collectors. Everyone also knows of my interest in firearms, but it was not until last Christmas that my wife finally gave me a one as a gift. (YIPPEE!!)....Cheers, RickO
Once, years ago, my Grandfather gave me a V nickel. Now, It seems I am the one handing out worn Morgan dollars to close or likable interested friends.
I get neither coins nor currency
Both.
