Forgot to post this but this guy was in our section a couple of weeks ago vs Red Sox.
First time I'd been to the Phillies new stadium.
Not bad....not bad at all.

A while back, I told myself that the two late August series with Washington would determine if the Phils have it or don't have it. The Nats took 4 out of 6 and have effectively removed the Phils from the NL East race, barring a September slump by Atlanta. It hasn't helped the Nats enough, as they still trail Atlanta by 8 games. The best the Phils can hope for now is to vie for a wild card, IMHO.

The key figure right now, in a multiple team race when some teams have played a few less games than the others, is to focus on the loss column. A team can gain wins, but it can't erase losses.
Unfortunately, the loss column is not favoring the Phillies.
Suddenly the Phillies seem to be back in it again.
This 2018 NL pennant is just so wide open this season. If the Phillies can just get into the playoffs, i believe they've got just as good a chance as any other team to clinch the NL pennant...and then into the World Series to beat the junior circuit team.
I just contacted my doctor and told him to write me a stronger prescription for nitroglycerin pills. Change it from regular strength to extra strength. In the final week of this season, i may need maximum strength.
It was sad for me to see the total collapse of the Phils in the last few weeks. I don't rate them as the most underachieving NL East team, though - no one expected the Phils to contend, and most expected the Nats and Mets to be up there. My only consolation is that the Nats and Mets are going home after today, too.

A weird thing about this Phillies season is that they were right up there with one of the best home records in the National League, but unfortunately down there with one of the worst road records.
There have been a lot of premises out there as to why this has happened. I mainly attribute it to them being a young team, the youngest team in MLB.
So with the right coaching, I think the young players will learn the mental preparation needed to win on the road during a long season.
Plus without a doubt, the Phillies will search this off season for some new mercenaries to come in and help them win more ball games.
Are we satisfied with this season? Of course not. But it was interesting, with the Phillies in first or mostly second place for a good while.
At least the Phillies gave us a taste of what may happen in the future, possibly next season, of contending for a playoff spot and more.
It was a fun riide while it lasted, and the season was a lot more fun that we anticipated, but in the end they ran out of gas. The Phillies need some hitters. There not a single .300 hitter in the whole line-up.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

True. And to think that in the previous off-season there was talk of them acquiring Christian Yelich. but he went to Milwaukee and look what happened.

Sadly, I have to 99% agree with ya.
I'm still leaving a 1% chance of hope.

I know. I'm scratching my head asking how did they get just 2 games back again?
Is that Kate Smith coming out to sing God Bless America for the Phillies to bring them good luck?
Alas no, it's just a fat lady.
Sinking, sinking, sinking. It gets bad when you can't remember the last series the Phils won.
