I don’t see anything unusual in that picture. Looks like a used 1973-D. Why buy it if you can’t tell for sure what it is?
As many others have said here - buy the book before the coin. Do your research first!
The lambs on the reverse!

Thst a uniquerare lamination. Great purchase VIN that one you should be very proud of.
I see nothing of value over face value in the cent that is posted.
Hopefully the OP paid no more than 1c for it.
What is up with the recent fascination with bowties? lol

Link to RARE Error.
Nope.
Check out my current listings: https://ebay.com/sch/khunt/m.html?_ipg=200&_sop=12&_rdc=1
All I see is a one cent coin that is worth one cent.
Love the title Classic! 1973 D Lincoln Cent Lamination Error “Exploding Bow Tie”
Good thing no body came and beat you on that bid. Not a bad deal. 2 bids

I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary.
If it is the coin linked in the Ebay auction, it looks to me to be a knife cut (or other sharp object), not a lamination.
common coin nothing special

Post mint damage IMHO . . . Worth exactly 1¢.
1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
Wasted 2x2 is all I see
Collector, occasional seller
Yep.
Nothing there, or at least nothing worth paying postage for even if the coin was free.
You are certainly trying to learn, but your education is going to be very, very expensive.
You can do what you want, of course, but my suggestion is to stay off of eBay - or at least don't bid/buy - until you know what you are looking at. The money would be better spent buying rolls of coins from the bank and searching those.
i dont see it. jmo
Wasn't wasted. The seller turned a nickel 2x2 into $1
If you look at the original listing, one of the pictures looks like it could be a minor lamination. The other pictures looks like nothing in particular.
Send us a better picture when you get it in hand.
Did you buy any reference book yet?
$3.25 sounds like first class parcel. Regular first class with a .21 surcharge for non-machineable mail makes that 2x2 cost either .71 or .91 depending on how much paper/cardboard is used (but if too much is used and the entire envelope is rigid or is too thick, then it becomes a parcel).
**Buy the Ebay/ Coin Holder Description and NOT the coin
**
Thank you for that I was wondering how others send their coin. The ones I want tracked I will send 1st class. I will remember that on coins/ect that do not hold much value under $20.00 or less. I can afford a loss of that nature.
That looks like (in that picture) PMD... and even if it is a minor lamination (does not look like it), it adds no numismatic value. Cheers, RickO
