Hello,
Looking for input. Can someone recommend a trusted refinery with decent prices where sterling silver can be scrapped/sold from the general public (me)?
Thanks for the help

Decent rates on gold and silver. Better than a retail shop would offer on small quantities. Just make sure your overall purity is 70% to not take a big hit on payout.
I guess I will have to give them a call tomorrow to ask some questions. I have almost 200 troy ounces of sterling. Obviously trying to get the best price with a business that is trustworthy. Some of the places you find on the net look and sound sketchy.
Let us know how you do. I have a bunch of my dad's Franklin sterling I'd like to sell.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I believe they will make bars out of your silver if you want
Have you done business with them before?
I sent in some canadian 80% silver . 4 or 5 years ago I think
Ditto. I have a 5 gallon bucket of sterling jewelry and rounds and bars.
I would prefer not to be the guinea pig, that's why I am asking if anyone has dealt with a reputable place
I use Midwest Refineries, 4471 Forest Ave, Waterford, Michigan 48328

I have used them for about a decade, usually several times a year. Funds come within 10 days usually.

Good information.... I do have sterling objects that are really just dust collectors.... I should put them together and weigh them... see if it would be worth sending... Thanks, Cheers, RickO
Follow up on Prospectors Gold & Gems. Just called and they have very poor customer service. Lady on phone told me she was very busy and couldn't even give a price paid for Sterling at today's price per troy ounce. Kept telling me 90%. 90% of what? ASW, sterling weight?? Then she didn't seem to realize the payout percentages go up with the amount you send in.
Unreal customer service.
I, too, have used Midwest Refineries several times. Always been happy.
DIY for me.
