Disagree with me all you like - go ahead, hit that button - it doesn’t bother me a bit. In fact, I would consider myself pretty dull if no one ever disagreed with me.
The world of social media with all of it's nuances has had a major impact on people - more so on the younger generations. When I saw these 'buttons' with the new software I was amused... considering the generational statistics of the forum. However, it seems to have been largely accepted, though in some cases abused when it comes to the negative applications. As stated above, a disagreement is certainly acceptable if accompanied by a rational statement supporting such a position. Such dialogue opens the path to learning. I thoroughly enjoy a good debate when it is logical and presented in an intelligent manner. Hopefully, this thread will lead to an improved forum. Cheers, RickO
Hitting disagree, followed by an explanation post is fine.
Hitting disagree at random, or deliberately without a clear purpose is nothing more than yelling "pull my finger!" then yanking it away, over and over. Pure wankery if you ask me.

I was curious to see to when in any of my previous postings that I may have been "disagreed" on. I found a comment that I made in _"Things people THOUGHT would matter, but really don't" _thread that had been given a simple "disagree" by a ) very esteemed and knowledgeable member of our forum may he rest in peace-that needed no further explanation simply because of the title of the thread itself. My hopefully rational and logical argument here is that there is no black and white and nuances abound in this form of communication. Cheers mate! @ricko
No you are not .....otherwise you would have more than 3 "disagrees" as a "retaliation". In the other hand; I managed to earn 18's for no reason and I just joint in.....less than a year with >1400 postings

Or am I?
If this is not a joke (I know this goes on as I had three trolls) and If I were a moderator, and the member you were stalking wrote to me about what you were doing, you would receive one stern warning. If you continued or jumped on another member in the same way, I would weigh your "worth" around here. If you were mostly an asset, I would give you a two week vacation. If not, bye. That's because IMO, disagreements are important. They should be posted not just thrown around w/o comment.
I had someone giving me so many nonsensical "disagrees" and other dumb thumbs downs, it was ridiculous. I reported him to the mods. which seemed to do some good, and contacted another member here who was obviously a victim of malicious negative feedback, I think he got the joker(s) kicked out for abusing the forum rules....Then I started giving my "enemy" likes and other positive feedback which seemed to do some good; and it appears he dwells on all the "likes" and non-likes he gets, nursing all his grudges with a big chip on his shoulder.
Years ago I never fought back trying to be a "good Christian"; but you know He didn't say to not "resist evil" to be a doormat or a masochist. I think Jesus was saying to not resist evil "with evil"; leading to more hostility and making evil worse. I don't think using the tools of civilization to counteract angry or malicious treatment is really "resisting" in a bad way at all. I just don't want to be like those who block forum people willy nilly, or block all the potential problem customers on ebay and are left with fewer and fewer people to interact with. But clearly there are people who misuse the trust of the good people on these forums and the company behind it. And clearly PCGS has bent over backwards to help make the collecting hobbies better, more friendly, more honest and civilized.
It is so un-called for.....Wished I can knock the chip of his shoulder

Sorry. my comment was supposed to be a lighthearted romp through Humourville... It's fun to have fun. Far be it from me to tell anyone what to do, but I make it a practise to try and keep things light. I don't major in the minor things.
Oh no....I just answered your question "or am I?" and it meant to be positive. You have over 10.040 posts & 3 "disagrees" so I know you were kidding. I don't get pissed off easily....they won't rubbed on me
We are here to learn. I learn more from 1 honest disagree than from 10 agrees. If the disagree is deserved I am inclined to study why so as not to make the same mistake twice. But I don't think I have been stalked so have no experience dealing with that situation. I would not like it though.

I agree with Insider and JBK. People who get their jollies doing this bs while contributing nothing are best ignored. They will move on.
Actually They don't. I can name one long-time member here who commonly disagrees with posts w/o a reason. He has even stalked another member here disagreeing with posts that no intelligent person could disagree with. I've requested on his public board to please leave comments as it seems he might have something he could add. No dice. He has not changed although I think he stopped stalking the other member.
would that be bill dugan disagreeing with every 3rd post of yours?

That was meant as a joke from me to ricko. A while ago ricko started a thread about disagrees and got clobbered by a lot of us with disagrees. It was our way to have fun with him.

BTW, it's old WHITE dudes. I'm an old white dude and I don't care to know anything about you. I do care very much about what you post about coins here.
Furthermore, what are you talking about? Did some numismatists disagree with something you wrote? Just what is an "alternative fact," street slang?
LETS END THIS THREAD.....this is meant for those new comers with silly DD / Error posting and NOT to evoke anger amongst us. Please move on......Thank you
@Jimnight I see you told someone that a coin they displayed was interesting and cool. Another person pinged you with a disagree. How can one disagree with your perception of a coins look.

If silly people easily evoked anger in me I'd be one grumpy guy. Heh.
Nutshell: Progressively vitriolic posts in response to a reasonable and light-hearted discussion of unprovoked social media judgements which was reasonably put forth by a true Hawaiian Goddess. As often happens, the discussion devolved into politics.

I flagged @Justacommeman for abuse for posting that picture of the corpulent coin dealer with his shirt off.
