Yes some can be extreamly valuable. There is a club in Nevada that collects these and some they pay top dollar for. There used to be a website that gave values I don't know of its still up and running or not
HAPPY COLLECTING
Don't get too excited about being rare........most are extremely common. About .6oz each of silver.

Yes, they are really silver and marked as such. Basically just over melt or melt. I don't know how many i've banged out and sent to the smelter. Pretty dang common here in Vegas.
The first ones, older ones, are the most valuable. Some rare ones are higher denominations as well. Do the research on each on ebay, usually pretty easy. Yes there are web sites that can give info as well. Do a google search for "casino silver strikes". Here's a reference: https://www.silverstrikers.com/
I have one or two.
I have a couple of these I got in 2000.

I have a small collection of casino tokens...many with the silver insert in the clay chip.... a couple like the above example, though they are more current. At the time, I was collecting the chips from the old casino's in Vegas...I just looked at them the other day when searching for something else. I forgot about them... lost track of that interest when I relocated from the west coast....Cheers, RickO
Aaaaaaaaaarrrhhhh! Those were the bane of my shop!!!!!!
Aaaaarrrhh!
Take them AWAY! Aaaaarrrhh!
I got some from the LCS a few years ago but got rid of them for some JM bars after the novelty wore off (quickly).
Not to many machines around that pay out like that anymore, But did you know you can turn them in for a 10-oz. 999. silver round? I do it all the time when I'm in Vegas. I would put in $100 and would rec some silver that say .999 silver and some say nothing but they are silver plated not silver 999. so I'd keep the silver one's and trade in the not silver one's for the 10-oz. round I would win around 40 of them off a $100 bill you can sit there for hours on that $100.
Hoard the keys.
