So called dollar HK-722a with intact 49 (most are holed out). Not an error, but a blunder (manufacturer believed Hawaii was a shoo-in as the 49th state).
Cool video...

Cool!
They shoulda covered their bases with an Alaska/Hawaii flip coin, like they did for Bush and Gore:
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Ah the failure of foresight... Like the newspaper that published front page news of Dewey beating Truman....Cheers, RickO
I wonder if these 49th State tokens are out there for sale. Thanks for the push to go on the hunt again. As we all know "The fun is in the hunt."
How lucky Hawaii was to have Alaska beat it for the distinction of being the 49th State. "Hawaii Fourty-Nine O" just doesn't have the ring to it that "Hawaii Five-O" does.
Doubtful the show would have survived into a second incarnation with out being named "Hawaii Five-0" - and thus denying me my "15 minutes of fame" as a "Background Actor" on "Hawaii Five-0."
Actually, the 5-0 refers to the engine liter size of the Mustangs police used to drive. nerdy wheeze
this scene would definitely calls for a 20secs shot in Alaska....Thank you for sharing the video

While looking for the 49th State token I found two other things.

Oops... Someone must have cut in line!
Interesting history.
I was planning to enter a numismatic exhibit titled, Hawaii the 49th State. The judges may not like the title of this record from the 49th State Hawaii Record Co.
Not a doctored photo.
The senate shot it down.
Picked this up on the BST:
I once bought (cheap) a 49-star flag at an Army surplus store. They were only used for one year from July 4, 1959 (after Alaska was admitted Jan. 3) until July 4, 1960, when the 50-star flag was introduced with the star for Hawaii.
