Quick Questions About 20-Pocket Coin Pages for 2x2 Flips

Although the coins in my primary coin collection reside in PCGS and NGC slabs, I also have a lot of "dreck" and foreign coins that I keep in those double pocket, non-PVC, 2x2 flips. Instead of continuing to store them loose in boxes, I'd like to move them over to some 3-ring binder albums. I've seen the 20-slot pages made by BCW and Ultra Pro, but having never used either of them I don't know how well they stand up to occasional removal and reinsertion of the individual flips.
Do the pockets tear easily?
Have any of you found a better quality product than those two brands?
My current coin collecting interests are: (1) British coins 1838-1970 in XF-AU-UNC, (2) silver type coins in XF-AU with that classic medium gray coloration and exceptional eye appeal.

Been awhile since I bought any. I literally had around 60-80 notebooks(1000's of pages) of these housing my world coin collection when I collected. The best by far then was Cowen. Those pages sure have gone up a chunk since then!
I think these pages also contain PVC. But I may be wrong.
I looked at some on amazon which were way cheaper then the ones at the local shops for $1 each. I posted on here and asked about the cheap ones on amazon and got nothing but negative responses. Seems like you get what you pay for.
I use them all the time and make sure you buy "archival" pages that do not contain PVC.
I don't understand why any products for coin storage still contain PVC...

You aren't wrong. The vinyl 20 pocket pages have PVC.
The "archival" ones are so brittle that they split after very few insertions.
I used them for years. I simply put the coins in MYLAR 2x2s and put the 2x2s in the pockets.
It is VERY hard to beat Mylar 2x2s. Especially if you use vise grips to flatten the staples and use FOUR staple to completely close the critter.
When I was through with the 2x2, the coin usually "pooched out" a bit and the mylar was stretched tight across the coin from rim to rim.
But..... it pays to kinda stretch the pockets somewhat or they WILL begin to rip.
I like the old Mylar and cardboard 2x2s also, but my only advise is to brush the cardboard dust off the coin side before using.
what you are thinking about doing is convenient for looking at the coins but not good for their protection. the best long term storage for stuff you're talking about is still flips and boxes.
I use the BCW 20 slot pages with none PVC 2x2 flips in a three ring binder for my circulated sets of Walkers and Fraklins. I like I for my low end coins because of easy storage and convenient viewing. I have had one 20 page tear after a lot of use, but it was cheap to replace.
I have to disagree here! If you place a coin in a quality 2X2 and seal it correctly as @topstuff says and don't store them in the basement or attic you should be fine! I have or had(don't remember if I have parted ways with them) Red Lincolns I stored for at least 40 years that way and they stayed Red! It is getting harder to find good quality 2X2's these days! The Chinese have made the mylar and cardboard so thin on some 2X2's that you might as well forget about them holding up to a Morgan Dollar!
Does anyone still make and nice heavy 2X2 like you used to buy in the 60's and 70's that take more than a fingernail to break out???? I have gone totally to archival flips mainly because of ebay and the need to access to photograph.
PS @Errorsoncoins... Archival pages might be fine for a 1 or 2 time insertion. If you use those at coin shows for display I bet you are making the manufacturer happy with all you repeat purchases!
I have to disagree here
I think you may be confused, I was saying that putting the coins in the 2x2's and storing them in the pages may not be a good idea, better to use boxes with SaFlips to be sure.
I don't use them !!!

They sell fairly cheaply on ebay as tons were made for 35mm slides will film was big. Camera stores can't sell them anymore and dump them.
I use them to sell educational error coin sets on ebay ...
I have some flips (Saflips) but I am a little leery of them. The old 2x2 is close to airtight but not flips, and I am in a humid area.
I do not care for the BCW pages - way too flimsy, especially with heavier coins and tokens.
I have been using the Lead Dog Products pages which are much heavier and have the small semi circle cut out at the bottom of each slot to help get those pesky 2x2's out. I get my supplies at my area shows.

I use 2x2's, the archival pages, flips and also put some in snap together slabs. I am careful not to get the PVC materials though... Since I do not frequently remove and replace coins, I do not have the issue of 'wear'. Cheers, RickO
They great way for organizing / 2x2. I take a few of them put in my case at shows. I take them out of binder stack then in my case, high profit material. In addn have 60-150 slabbed coins plus currency. I don’t do the junk box thing.
