I bought this nickel, Buffalo nickel
I found this one roaming around so I gave it a home. The strike and luster is pretty damn good compared to my 65's of the same date. I think this one might be a tad better. If you have a 1917 buffalo nickel please do show it here.
At any rate here "t'is. It has ribbed toning
Thanks for looking and comments or opinions are welcome here, as always.
Happy hunting, Joe
The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

That's pretty cool, Ron
This one graded 65, just got it back.
Oh yeah.. really a nice coin!
I enjoy looking at pretty buffalo nickels, this one included.... I have to go search to remind myself of what the F on the obverse means.... sure it's the designer, but if so can not remember the name....

That sucker is hammered Joe! Another beautiful Buffalo for your herd. I'll bet there is no room to skate in your house!

Thanks, Joe. It's an abraded die, just like the 3 legged coin only on the obverse.
I love the blue toning on his reverse. Pretty!
Nice !!!
Gorgeous Joe, love all your coins. You have great taste in Buffs. Congrats.

@crazyhounddog ...That is a great strike and a 66 IMO....Cheers, RickO
Strike is wonderful! Better strike and eye appeal than my 65. 66 IMHO
Very nice!

way cool, im glad its got a good home to
Clean fields and a near full strike. Black Diamond seems to want to make a statement when he starts grazing with the others.
It's amazing to me how resilient some coin surfaces can be after 100 years. I think you have no less than a 66 with that one.
Pete
Oh, I cant resist mentioning your title in reference to 007.
Bond. James Bond
Nickel. Buffalo Nickel.
Pete
Yes I do agree, Pete. Ricko and I also feel the same way about the grade. I’ll be disappointed if it grades less that a 66. The obverse looks 67 to me complete full details. The reverse I’d say 66 full details.
Thanks again to all for your comments as it is always very much appreciated.
Happy hunting, Joe
Here's mine...
Awe yeah
What a pretty 17 Doc !! Thank you for sharing that beauty here on my thread, Joe
this coin is truly unique.... it has the wood grain toning along with the rainbow. The strike is a bit weaker, but I would trade almost all my coins for this
(SAD I DO NOT OWN IT)
