Actually, it is probably a triple from what I paid for it 16 years ago.

Fred can I have PCGS put 00000 as the date ;)

No, but you can ask if they'll use those
zero's as part of the serial number on the tag!

Maybe I'm dense....But I'm trying to figure out what that is. (The blobby device to the left is confusing me.....)

Any chance you can post a pic of the entire coin, or describe the type of error we are looking at?

Thanks!! I still can't claim I understand it, or the chain of events that produced it....but it has a good look to it!

    (Now, how did ANACS know it was a 2000, and not a 1000 or 3000? ;) )

Just had a thought - if the Mint is now numbering their error emissions, then you have not only the first pre-one, but one that is ' Pre-First Strike' label eligible.

Wow! A new, exciting label! Fire up the color laser printer! What a bonanza for the TV product sellers.....

If the date was in binary it would have a lot more zeroes, but my blood sugar usually gets low this time of day, so perhaps my input is less relevant than @RogerB's, which is bad enough.

Perhaps that's a prototype of Fred's new store card and that's the number for the Error Hot News and Heartbreak Hotline he's been answering all these years.

    Looks like a 2 cent piece . . .

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

I do believe the Mint needs to re-examine their Quality program. I realize that would be bad for business @ErrorsOnCoins , and I am sorry.. but the amount of mint errors just seem to be far too great for a well run business. On the other hand, when we are talking billions of coins, perhaps I expect too much.... :/ Cheers, RickO

Ricko, just because a "specialist" (me) happens to be a prolific poster, doesn't mean errors are commonplace when in fact they are extremely rare. Just think about the number of coins the mint produces each year, year after year.

As for business, it would be great for business as it makes error coins even rarer. In fact, in 2002, the US Mint really cracked down on error coins. Guess what happened since then. A huge increase in error coin prices.

Just to blow your mind, go here as I hope to have about 200 Mind-Blowing Error coins listed by the end of the day.
