1965 double die help

I don't know if I am seeing things or is this machine double or a double die the 5 is very thick and the in good wee trust looks strange thanks help identify please

Start investing in books. So much has been studied and written about every coin. There are many good ones and Cherry Pickers guide Vol 1 and 2 come to mind for errors across the spectrum.

Instead of looking for new DDs you should be looking for documented DDs. More bang for the buck.

Not a DD.... Please get the Cherry Pickers Guide and study online reference sites... You will soon be able to see what true doubled die coins look like and differentiate between those and the other phenomena that are seen on coins. Cheers, RickO

Lots of new collectors see things that experienced people know are just part of normal production -- kind of like 1964 SMS coins.

PS: To the OP --- please use less compression in your JPG photos. Your images have a lot of compression artifacts that degrade your photos.

Machine doubling possibly in tandem with die fatigue.
Stressed/worn dies make lettering "bleed" into the rims.
