Mint Statistics: Proof sales drop is suprisingly large
Posted on April 13, 2018 by Dave Harper
If you are interested in 2018 clad proof sets, this week’s sales numbers are a puzzler. Not only did they decline, they fell by 13,387. Who got cold feet? This is a fall of 6.4 percent. Can’t blame silver or gold; there is no precious metal in the set.
Another odd decline was for the 2018 Congratulations Set. This dropped by 1,035 to 14,078. In percentage terms, that’s 6.8 percent.
Finding something of interest among advancing sales figures is difficult. Bullion Eagle sales inched ahead. Gold went on the board with 2,000 one-ounce coins sold. Silver added 125,000 to reach 335,000. April is shaping up as another weak month. Gold Buffaloes put the number 500 up for April thus far.
The 2018-W proof silver Eagles moved ahead routinely by 3,284 to reach 264,222.
I hope you have read this at bedtime. You can go to sleep now.

Posted as of 13 April, but compiled on 8 April.... the month is young.... Cheers, RickO
the P mint native American dollars are selling better than the D mint for all 3 product options, I wonder why? that would be the only thing I would think about buying, as the premium on a 250 dollar box is small
Somebody doing a large return ahead of the new mint rules?
