Bygones. Doesn't appear to alter the appearance of the coin nor its value.

    Did you drop it?

Well I am sure they will be happy to work with you since it sounds like it happened in shipping. Maybe give them a call, work out a deal maybe send it back to them or they have you contact NGC for repairs. I am sure something like that. I am just guessing though of course maybe you want to send it to PCGSto be reslabed. I send all my Valuable NGC slabs to PCGS for re-slabing. Of course thats just me I prefer PCGS even though they have cost me hundreds in the past when they graded my coins.

Heck I might even down the road break them out and dip them in acetone and send them in again for grading. But some of them were True-View's.

The same thing happened to me with a Heritage coin. They just asked me to send it back to them and they would see it got reholdered (for free). Other than the time it took, it was a painless experience. I would be surprised if Stacks handles it any differently.

So did this fine gentleman: "...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."

Call them and ask. Or tag them here. They have great customer services. My one problem with them was very well and perfectly/satisfactorily handled. Considering how grouchy (as in, starts with a 'p', rhymes with kissed) I was about it, they were quite sane.

I had one coin arrive from a dealer that had gotten very banged up and he immediately offered to have me return it so he could have it reholdered (thankfully the crack, though more extensive than yours, was over the label end as well). I was in the process of boxing up a submission so sent it in myself and he reimbursed me. If a decent sized solo-dealer can do that I'm sure @StacksBowersGalleries will do the same.

WHATEVER YOU DO THOUGH, DON'T MESS WITH THE HOLDER FUTHER. Yours is not a big crack, but if for some reason the coin section ends up compromised it will become a new grading event instead of a reholder. Unless of course you were planning on cracking/crossing or something. In that case, 'how thoughtful of the post office to get you started'.

Call their customer service and explain the situation.... It will normally be handled quickly and almost painlessly...(the pain being in the hassle of having to do something). Cheers, RickO

They will arrange to reholder it, and by the way when they send it back to you it will be in PCGS plastic?? Now THAT'S good customer service!

the only possible way to interpret that is to expect an upgrade and a bean

Glad you were able to crack (i.e., 'solve') the cracked case case. :)

I do not know if there are very many 68's for this coin. I told them I would accept a 67+ ;)
