Most cult members rush to see their cult leader first thing in the morning.

So, the mirror is your first stop?

Heads up, that might be a compliment.

I don't understand. Why are you so mad that I didnt get the coin I paid for?

I'm not mad. And I supported your position, several times. But I also felt like the Apmex bashing was overdone a bit on the other thread.

I've NEVER suggested that you shouldn't get your money back, etc. etc.

So then is your argument that eBay bucks are not really money or that $500 in eBay bucks is just peasant money as someone else proposed?

Those of you defending this are part of the problem. Stop drinking the Cool-Aide and help fix the actual problem here. Hopefully if enough people complain to eBay about the bait and switch going on, it will force them to stop this shady practice. But I know how the real world operates and those who have deep pockets can do as they wish.

NO ONE is defending the mistakes. It is, however, only "bait and switch" if it is done intentionally to deceive. What those of you who are leaping to conclusions fail to acknowledge is that it is possible that it is sloppy business rather than deceptive business.

I very well might have an item listed right now that I do not own. eBay's software occasionally, randomly duplicates a listing for me. For the hundreds of 99 cent items I have, the ONLY time I realize that it is happened is AFTER it has sold. [I double-check the more expensive items, but there is no way to check the relisted inexpensive items because I don't even know which ones I still have in inventory.]

It is POSSIBLE - not mandatory - that it is sheer [sic] sloppiness.

Shear sloppiness? Seriously? Not a chance as this has been repeated many times so that any competent company would get it.........

  • Nothing but good transactions with Apmex over the years here. Just my two-cents. I've bought all sorts of coin & currency from them. Sorry to see a few of you not seem to get what you paid for...

At the risk of starting an argument, I consider eBay bucks to be a rebate. Return the item, forfeit the rebate. Now, I know you don't agree, but I think we could agree to disagree on that one point.

I do agree with you in the middle of the ebaybucks quarter. But you are missing the point. The chance to re-earn that rebate with a seller sending the right coins was lost. Im buying a PF66 38 WLH for my set regardless. I could have done so with a $100 coin rebate, which I did intend with them, which is now gone.

You seem to think I have been arguing that I should still have gotten my ebay bucks despite the return under normal circumstances.

So now you think you should be able to buy an item, earn bonus ebay bucks, return the item and keep the ebay bucks? Ebay would go out of business if it worked like that. Hell I'd buy stuff just for the bucks then return everything just to get a free $500 every quarter. We could call it bonus buck welfare, Unbelievable

    No.

The problem was the timing of the eBay bucks pullback.

At no point did the OP of the other thread say he should keep the eBay bucks after returning the coin (or if he did I missed it).

He merely pointed out that because APMEX did not send him the correct coin (the SNAD return), he now loses the eBay bucks at a time in the buck cycle so his account is now negative. Because it is negative he is no longer eligible for the bonus buck offers (the 8% deals for example) moving forward. Until he buys enough stuff at the normal 1% rate he won't be getting the 8% (or whatever) extras.

So, due to APMEX's actions, there is now a detrimental effect on his ability to earn future eBay bucks.

The issue is resolved. The ebay bucks welfare will have a prosperous quarter. I ended up having a GREAT coin month after all the trouble. I am going to emjoy my white whale aquisition and let APMEX do their thing to make this particular issue right. I wont engage in the APMEX lovers coalition anymore. You guys have good experiences with APMEX great. I for one will only buy mexican libertads from them going forward. Unless they right the numismatic ship at some point, ill give them another shot.
