My local bullion dealer had 5 and we agreed they were culls so he let me buy them for melt value. Mistake or not?

They aren't worth much more but at melt you can't go wrong!
Soak them in acetone and remove the color,
Thanks, I'll just put them in a tube with plain bullion coins. Making sure they were at least worth melt.
I would
of course.
Knowledge is the enemy of fear
Acetone and you'll never know
I'd buy them !!!
That was a good buy.
Like was posted, acetone removes holograms and decals. Some of the coins turn out very nice.
Got quoins?
I wouldn't. My time isn't worth the hassle
Yes
Do this all the time, quick dip and good as new.
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

Yep ... the sticker comes right off!

No, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth melt.
I knew it would happen.
worth melt....just not worth the trouble to me
I’ve bought worse for more.
I personally wouldn't, but there's really no downside. If I ever did in a moment of weakness, I'd acetone them.

Thanks for the input. Hard to believe that some people actually pay a premium for them.
I would buy them at melt... but would attempt a negotiation for a little below first....I would shoot for 10% below melt... of course, would be happy with melt if that is what it came down to.... Cheers, RickO
i think id buy them as well. no harm done from what i see.
Yeah sure, I would buy them. It’s still an ounce of silver at melt.
The colorized ASEs aren’t my cup of tea, but different strokes for different folks.
