I visited my favorite local shop today. He got in a bunch of really nice looking raw Morgan Dollars. But this one really stood out and begged to come home with me. The die polishing really drew me in along with the outstanding mirrors. She's without a doubt PL and borderline DMPL. I know the TPG's would not bless her with a DMPL as it basically is a 5X increase in value. But I love her just the way she is.

...I Love the look of that coin bro!...it’s like 10,000 spiderlings floating on top of a glass lake in those fields...Major Character on that baby
Well picked! That’s how you do it

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
You have a good eye for the nice ones.
Very nice 64+/65PL, could go higher if sent in for the 6 second "expert" opinion.
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

Very nice find!
Nice!
I love those radial die file lines "spokes." PM me what you want for her..
Great looking coin! I’m amazed you can find them this nice raw (and at a local shop, no less). I would grade it 65PL and those mirrors are all there!
Nice pickup.

congrats
Thanks everyone. I was surprised it the 2x2 was not even marked as PL. I have a feeling he had one of his assistants go through and price everything. But I did run it by the owner as he always gives me a deal and he discounted it from the marked price of $65.00 down to $50.00. This is another one that will remain in my collection for a while.
I now have a stack of coins that I need to send to PCGS. Maybe I'll be able to use the Quarterly Special.
Sweet !!!
really nice

Nice pick up
Very nice Morgan... Be sure to post it when you get it back.... Great price as well... I would have snapped up that one so fast the dealer would have got a chill from the breeze.... Cheers, RickO
Thanks guys. I will certainly post the results when it does come back. I may not be sending it for at least another month. Add in the turnaround times and it might be summer before I get results.
Awesome pickup for $50
It sure is! Somewhat sad to realize that he probably bought it for $30 from someone that didn’t know any better. At least in this case all that surplus is realized by a collector that knows and cares. Let us know what it grades!
.
nice look/images/reflective fields. be sure to verify that isn't cleaning on the obv/rev. i see die polish lines but it seems to me from the high-res images that it has PLS.
thanks for sharing and keep up the hunt!
God bless.

I might be having a brain fart today, but what does PLS stand for?
I am almost certain that the hairlines are all die polish. They are raised above the surface and the ones near the devices all run right to the edge. They don't stop just before where the surface would have been protected. A lot if them go right under the device and emerge on the other side. Total text book die polish lines. There are a few polish lines on Liberty's cheek. I was concerned about those, until I looked at them under magnification and confirmed they were raised and no etched into the surface like small scratches would be. I honestly believe this is why I got such a good deal on this one.
I've shown a 1903 VAM-1a to him and he thought it was cleaned.
you got it from context.
parallel line scratches aka cleaning/hairlines etc.
