I’m loving that 5oz Engelhard. Nothing for me this week except for a couple of proof sets. (1959, 1962)

That 10 oz. bar is nice.... Is there a particular venue for these bars? Or just ebay type auctions? Cheers, RickO

I purchased this one off eBay from Bullion Exchange but lots of Precious Metal Dealers sell them including AMPEX and Provident.

Bullion Exchange is currently cheapest that I found.

Can't resist a joke here. I'll bet that bar was made before the wedding.

No, it’s not soggy grape nuts.

Is that from a bucket you brought home to pan? Looks like a lot of dust in there...Cheers, RickO

There is a chart hanging on the door in my doctors office that has a photo that very closely resembles this photo.

Refined down from 5.8 ounces of 10K,14K, 18K jewelry, and some dental gold purchased through the shop last year.

I opted for the DIY kit, instead of the trip to a refinery this time. It's not a process, nor an option I would recommend to many... except it's kind of fun.
    Yield was 2.3 oz 24K , or 999.5 purity.

Will pour a couple bars, later... and post photos.

@TwoSides2aCoin... Now that is a neat result.... I like that bar... True, it was a lot of work, but so much more impressive - and easier to sell - than gold dust.... Cheers, RickO

Here is something sorta new that some may not have seen yet. These are absolutely cool.

It's just the latest silver gimmick, but I admit they are pretty cool. Woudn't pay much over Spot though.

Those logos are cool, but if you won't pay much over spot you won't get them.

Symbols are Hobo markings used back in the day (safe place to ask for food, good cops / bad cops , etc) to let others know about area they were entering. Hobo Series -> more details here https://www.jmbullion.com/1-oz-antique-the-trains-silver-round/

In addition to SEMPERFISILVERANDMORE comments above
The original artist is Steve Adam, his initial is below the kneeling man
The meaning of Hobo Signs from left to right in orderly fashion:
Go, Safe Camp, Railroad, Worth robbing, Jail, Afraid, Don’t go this way, Tramps here, Catch out here.

@TwoSides2aCoin, which process did you use? I would assume inquartation.
In this image the large bar is 5.012 ozt round is 1.002 ozt and square is 1.78ozt. I don't typically care to go 9995 pure. Mine when tested with my XRF are 9855-9955. I have another batch in the works that should yield .80 ozt, that I will leave in powder form till I have about 5 ozt again.

PS the $5 is a good fake that will be refined. I like refining this type of stuff because I get to skip a few steps.

Still my favorite byproduct of scrap refining. No clue as to value, but they test real and are shiny.

Oh and don't worry about the purple, it goes away. If you do get it on your fingernails that can stick with you a bit longer though.

I hope that 'purple' is not cyanide... that could be a real problem... Cheers, RickO

Silver/copper nitrate is green in color but turns skin a blue/purple color.

My biggest issue is not rinsing my gold well enough after pouring off the silver nitrate solution so when I add Hydrochloric acid to my gold I'm stuck with a white Silver Chloride powder in my solution that can be difficult to filter out sometimes.
