This coin has a very nice look. I love the original old, grey toning. The strike is especially nice and even and the reverse die crack is sharp and adds interest.

I'd definitely prefer a coin like this over a uncirculated but cleaned example. As @MrEureka recently noted in another thread, that original surface takes you back to 1825 while a cleaned coin loses that direct connection to it's history. This coin is a good example of Andy's astute observation.

Nice coin Jon.... and four to go... WOW.... that is indeed a long journey... Buy a special bottle of wine to celebrate the completion....though it may be a while yet. Go to FUN and a couple of big shows and maybe you will get lucky... ;) Cheers, RickO

Great looking dime my friend. You’ve been at this dime business for a looooong time, Jon. Looking at it closely I see her eye is not very well formed.
A very nice lovely and interesting dime.

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Four to go, that's awesome! When you get down to a few die marriages it's tough, so adding a nice R4 is a great day. Congratulations!
