Recent New Member and Introduction
I have shamelessly stolen this idea from CuKevin's 2013 post!
I actually joined a year or so ago but just started posting at the recommendation of another individual I respect in this hobby.
I am an EAC (Early American Coppers) member since 2002, a member of the Liberty Seated Collectors Club (LSCC) and an ANA member.
I have been “published” on Coin Week (14 articles), EAC’s Penny-Wise, the C4 Newsletter, the LSCC Gobrecht Journal and have an upcoming article in the May ANA Numismatist, primarily on my and my Team’s research into the latest deceptive struck US coin counterfeits.
My journey started in the fall of 2015 when another EAC member posted on our FB site Copper Notes a very deceptive counterfeit 1798 “S-158” large cent in a TPG holder; since then we have developed a process for analyzing and evaluating suspect “varieties” and have documented ones from my 1787 Mass “4C” half cent to the 1836 Gobrecht “dollars” and seated dollars.
I have started posting my research articles in this venue to continue to try and get the word out and benefit myself from the collective knowledge on this site in discussions and posts on the topic.
Best, Jack D. Young EAC 5050

Your posts of the deceptive counterfeit coppers are an asset to the forum. The recent appearance of these coins is really disturbing, and your willingness to share your knowledge with the forum members is much appreciated.

I am very pleased to see you posting your discoveries here. Your posts are both informative and disconcerting. The transfer die approach to the production of difficult-to-detect counterfeits has the potential to radically change the market for U.S. coins within the next couple of decades.

Any images of the counterfeit Hawaii cents posted somewhere? Thanks.
Welcome, Jack - as you know, I too much appreciate your posts and articles!
Here is an image of the Hawaiian variety in the research; I am working on a sumary article for these next.
You can see some of the "attribution" marks on this example that are repeated on the others.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
