    Isn't it scarce to see a proof with a rotated reverse? Neat coin either way.

    Actually, I believe that the rotated Reverse is "common" on these.

    Rotated reverses are common on Buffalo nickels in general. I do not recall seeing them on Proofs, but had I seen this coin at ANACS I would not have considered the rotation to be significant.

    I have a theory as to why rotated reverses are so common on Buffalo nickels. There is no horizontal feature on the obverse other than the date to use as an alignment guide, and the date is off to one side just enough that if the die setter absent-mindedly puts the obverse die in the press with the date centered towards himself, it will be rotated relative to the reverse about as much as you see on this coin.
