  • OK.. didn't know if that was within the bounds. I'm looking to get in contact with the writers of the Kansas Token book.

"Kansas Trade Tokens" by Kent Johnson & Larry Oller

IF anyone has current contact info or can pass along my info I would appreciate it.

Here's the Oller-Johnson book on Kansas Trade Tokens (2005) on Amazon and Google:

I've found a few references to them online but no direct contact information.

The closest is via Todd Schafer, who Kent referred to the National Token Collectors Association. You can find Todd's address and phone number in the April 13 issue of Talkin' Tokens, the NTCA magazine:

Larry Oller and Kent Johnson are moderators on the Kansas Token Forum but haven't logged in a while. Posting there may get them or others that know them to post:

Here's a 2007 article from the Colby Free Press with some information on them that I'm including here because it's only available via Google cache and it may go offline:

Gun and coin show this weekend
Kent Johnson and Larry Oller, authors of the book “Kansas Trade Tokens,” will be displaying early-day Kansas tokens at their table at the Colby Coin Show. The show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Colby Community Building.

Featured will be tokens used by soldiers in the Post Traders store at Fort Wallace in the 1880s. Also, Johnson and Oller will be displaying tokens from the old cow towndays of Dodge City, including the Longbranch Saloon token. The men, who deal in early Kansas memorabilia of all types, will also display tokens from Northwest Kansas general stores dating around 1900.

Johnson and Oller are nationally known as experts in Kansas tokens, encased cents, dog licenses, documents, and postcards. They have contributed to more than 20 books on these subjects. At their dealer table they will be buying and selling tokens of all sorts, as well as early dogtags, postcards, and documents.

TokenCatalog.com also has a list of "Unlisted in Oller/Johnson" tokens provided by Larry.

April 22, 2010 - Larry Oller, one of the authors of the Kansas Trade Tokens catalog, has provided a list of tokens which were not included in the original catalog. If you would like a list of just these tokens, click on this link - Unlisted Kansas. This list contained just under 600 tokens. Thank you Larry!

Here's the cover of their book!

Sorry as I don't have Kent or Larry's contact info.

You should also post your inquiry on the NGC forum as they are the service that grades the Kansas tokens.
