I've exercised patience for months as many forum members suggested :) and finally rewarded with one I am HAPPY with.... IMHO

It's very hard to satisfy fancy without going up to MS65, where price is so out of reach for me.

Almost...eBay fine print limits it to $100 max rather than the full 8% ($144). I am glad I did not buy any raw Double Eagles though...

I'm glad you are happy with it Sari, that's the main thing. I recently sent cac a small group of $20 gold coins, got one sticker, which maybe shows that "original", etc. are tough criteria. I can't recall the last time PCGS gave me a plus.

Thank you logger7. Congratulation on your CAC) certification. BTW do you know if PCGS has the (+) cate listed on their spread sheet?

  • logger7logger7 Posts: 8,620 ✭✭✭✭✭

I would just check their Coinfacts or price guide, I think it is listed as NGC does on theirs.

I had a choice for 1900 MS64 instead but that particular seller has 92% feedback with one very concerning feedback "won item on low bid but then seller cancelled order"; so decided not to take that kind of risk.
Factored in the discount this netted $1700; PCGS CoinFact listed as $1875.
Are you looking for your first Double Eagle as well? I do see GC listing a MS64 CAC but not the 64+ though.

I see many other MS 64's and did not pull the trigger until this came along, IMO the eye appeal landed her the (+)
Be very particular especially on expensive purchase :)

I felt the same way when I bought my first $10 indian in ms-64. I found a higher end one and it looks like a ms-65, very big price jump from ms-64 to ms-65
