Mission clad 1977 Eisenhower dollar

I pulled this coin out of circulation many moons ago and somehow never lost it. I find it interesting and wanted to share. Is it real?

Yes it's real; however, it may not be an authentic product of the US mint. Appears to be some kind of trick photography.

  • Sorry about the lousy and confusing photos. The light wasn't the best and I was trying to show the color compared to another dollar. The size difference is from the angle it was taken from with my phone. I was intrigued and curious as to what people with experience thought about my coin. If anyone's interested I can attempt a better photo.

It is discolored, that's all. Nothing special. Did you get my joke? It is real.

It just looks worn and dirty to me.

@velociab.... Welcome aboard.... it appears to have tarnished/discolored and not in an attractive manner. No added value... Cheers, RickO

  • OK, thanks. I thought it was missing the cladding on the obverse. I'll come up with something better next time. I've a bunch of Morgan and Peace dollars, however most seem to have been cleaned at some time or another.
