Been collecting Engelhards for some time now. But I cannot find any info on a 1/2oz gold Engel with a frosted Philipp Brothers on back. Hoping one of the experts here could help. Trying to find out mintage or history or both.
Thanks in advance

From Wikipedia
The company was founded in 1901 as Philipp Brothers. It was later acquired and became the Philipp Brothers Division of Engelhard Minerals & Chemicals Corporation. In 1981 the company was spun off as Phibro Corporation.
My assumption is that the minting of the bar is probably in conjunction with the acquisition of the company by Engelhard.
