Any ANA Exonumia experts out there?

These were in a bullion collection I purchased over the weekend. Anyone know anything about them other than the obvious, and what kind of value they carry?

    I have no idea of value of those items... but what is a 'billion' collection?? Just a ginormous collection of numismatic 'stuff'?? Cheers, RickO

    Neil Harris wrote the following book and may have some info on this piece as well:

    "A Catalogue of Convention Badges & Medals of the American Numismatic Association 1908-1968"

    @ricko That was a typo :D - I meant to say bullion.

    Not official...

    Notice the logo is the "Member" logo not the Association one.

    Some member had them made to promote the show or as keepsakes. Likely related to the manufacturer on the reverse.

    I's be expecting gold plated btw.

    A 1975 version sold on Ebay yesterday for $75.
    Another two card lot is up for sale at $150.

    From the July, 1975 "The Numismatist" (bottom of one page, top of the next)

    Gold became legal for Americans to own at the end of 1974. 1975 was the first year that the official ANA convention medal was struck and sold in gold. This 1975 souvenir was privately made, but obviously with full approval of the ANA.

    Great and informative replies.

    FWIW, I don't think the postmarks are real USPS cancellations. They look private as well.

    Do notice that the ad shows the Association logo while the item shows the member logo.

    I think there were two versions, one official and one unofficial?

    Great info Tom.

    Nice to know these were made by Birt E. Slater Company with a design by Gordon Z. Greene of Galaxie Design.
