I am putting together a set of the fugliest coins I can find- mostly problem free as far as dents; digs; cuts; holes; deep scrapes and whatnot. I know it when I see it. I am actually slightly embarrassed by some of the coins I've picked up the last few months that fit this criteria- some are truly hideous. These three haven't arrived yet and wanted to pass them by you all. I seriously thank you for your time and attention.
I almost bought the 22 when the seller dropped the price after several years. If the red toning is a little redder and the underneath is a little golder than the pics show, could be a nicer coin than it looks.

Depends on the price. Depends on what makes you happy.
These would not make me happy unless they are well below melt.
Why would someone be entitled to silver well below melt just because of appearance? Silver is still silver and once refined is indistinguishable from a 99.9999 fine bar.
Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I like the first and last but not the middle. Don't care for the toning.
Wonder if the 2000 cent was sanded or something, I can't imagine how it would have gotten that way otherwise. I would still be happy to have it.
It's actually too nice for one of my side collections.
There is no right answer. If they make you happy - good job! IF you now regret it - bad idea. If you're not sure and asking us...you have too much money.
It's a shame you don't have a brick and mortar dealer in your area. Most any dealer who has been in business for a while accumulates items like this that they would love to unload. You could make the dealer happy and save yourself the postage by buying these items from them.
The 1923 Peace Dollar has silver corrosion and would not get a straight grade. It would not qualify for the “poorest graded with no problems” registry.
The 1922 Peace Dollar has unattractive toning despite the fact that it is certified. It may have developed that toning after it was slabbed because of an improper rinse after a dip.
The 2000-D cent either spent some time getting runover in a parking lot, or it was gone over with an abrasive which removed the copper coating and layer of design detail.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Is this a trick question??
Honestly? Very poor judgment.
Unless you got those silver dollars for far less than melt, I would ask WHY?

I may be missing something. Does PCGS have a Fugly registry now? Or are these fakes?
Are you starting to collect pocket pieces?

I get the low ball value for the two, but not sure about the 22 Peace.

The second one was slabbed. Curious as to how it did (or didn't) grade.

That 22 Peace is ms62? Wow! Looks like rust to me, is that considered toning? I don't even like it as a fugly coin!...Thanks rln
