Do you know any "numb-mismatists?"

Presumably, we've all met a few -- depending on our personal definitions.

    I could fit the picture.

But sometimes I think I'm not "numb" enough.

Most dealers on Saturday afternoon of a major show, if they are still there.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

...skin so thick could be a numb-mismatists' symtom?

I've become less and less excited by great coins as of lately. Yesterday I handled a 1895 Morgan PR64 in an old green holder with lovely original color and slight cameo. Meh wasn't interested.

Most would probably describe me as a dumb numismatist...I don't care about grades, I prefer circulated to MS, I view quantity as quality and more. Is that close?

I was numb for a while last week....dentist appointment.. :D ... followed by a great meal with copious quantities of Cabernet....an additional numbing effect....Yes, on occasion I have been a numb-mismatist....even enjoyed it sometimes... ;) Cheers, RickO

I see a lot of numbness, these days, but a lot of passion still exists, as well.

I, myself, have always been passionate, even though I have had dry buying spells. I think that I will always be this way....numismatics has SOOO much to offer.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

I see one in the mirror every morning but he always walks away without saying anything.
