I think the best story about him was turning down going to the draft so he could go fishing with his father. I just read a stat that he was only the 5th NFL player to ever make the Pro Bowl 10 straight times in his first 10 seasons Joining Merlin Olsen,Mel Renfro,Barry Sanders & Lawrence Taylor. His consecutive snaps played record will probably never be broken.

he may be past his Football prime but he is in the prime of his life. I think he'll find a place somewhere and it wouldn't be a bad thing if it was with Cleveland. for the loyalty he has shown I would expect them to make him some type of offer, even if it's only player talent evaluation.

nice link......................if you're a member. I love it when a "knowledgable insider" puts a requirement on reading what they think. GEE, we don't even do that here!!
Sorry about the link. Bob McGinn was the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel Packer beat writer for about 30+ years. He is the insider's insider when it comes to the Packers. Knows the game quite well. Required reading for Packers fans. He retired from the paper last year and started his own web site. I have found it worth subscribing to.
Regarding the trade, he includes quotes from about a dozen NFL personnel execs. About 9 of them voted Kizer the most likely QB bust in his draft class. Great physical assets, but a lot of mental / attitude issues. Change the name to Randall and you have the same situation. The Packers team veterans committee went to McCarthy after last season and asked him to get rid of Randall. A real problem. Will either player benefit from the trade? Time will tell. Packers flipped 4th and 5th round picks with Cleveland. They may try to move up in the 1st round. Already much more activity than with Grandpa Ted Thompson.

Saw this earlier that he was looking into joining the media after football. I'm sure he'll still have ties to the Browns no matter what.

I see we exchanged problems: Randall to Cleveland, Kizer to Green Bay. Bob McGinn here writes: Randall for Kizer, a trade that won’t help either team.
