Mess To Miracle- 1921 Morgan VAM-41B
I purchased this Morgan through auction on the 24th of February. When I first viewed lot, I mistook it for a harshly cleaned Morgan because the reverse appeared severely cleaned by sight. I passed this over several times before revisiting once more to look at the horrible cleaning...
Well, it wasn't cleaned. What I saw under my loop were die scratches all over the reverse, and pitting! I then knew I was looking at a VAM. Turned out to be a VAM-41B. Condition I put at AU-53 to 55.
It wasn't a few minutes after I bought the lot that I got a text that my grandchild was about to be born! Later that evening Nelson made his arrival- he's my namesake as his middle name is my first name/last. He's going to be my little project with sharing the hobby.

Both are wonderful examples. I don't recall seeing that VAM before. Really nice. Are you going to name the baby Morgan?
Congratulations on both.
I think your coin is actually UNC (better than AU-55). If those are not hairlines on the cheek, then maybe MS-62.
Contratulations on your new member of the family!
and Congratulations on the new baby boy too! Cute little guy!
(I think I agree with dcarr on your coin being a little nicer than an AU)
Both look like great additions to your family! Enjoy your new coin and your new grandson too!
Congrats on both! I concur with dcarr-it looks MS from here, too.
Congratulations.... both look like real winners.....Make sure he gets a coin for every birthday...Cheers, RickO
41B is a fun VAM and yours is a fairly early die state example that shows all of the madness that went on!
The lady really took one on the chin, too.
Congrats to you.
Pete
Be good to the little guy and buy a pound of silver for every pound he puts on. When he goes to college you'll be able to help by selling off the silver. 150 lbs of silver to day is approximately $44,000. Just an idea. Of course should you buy now and it goes to $50 again, just sell and buy back at the drop......his acct will grow wonderfully!

That's one beautiful baby. Congratulations to all!
Very nice score Rich. Looks MS possibly 58 but I'm seeing a weak strike BU beauty that may have very slightly circulated. Congrats on the kiddo too
Nasty looking reverse! Someone had to a snoozing in 1921 while that die was in business.
