Even though flawed, I still bought it

15+ years ago I was working on a set of small eagle dollars and picked this up. Even though I wasn't looking for an error, the coin itself was quite attractive and daughter approved so it came home with me.
I'll have to get a pic of another error I have in the series, a 1797 double struck dollar that's in sdb. Attractive with skinny date and stars and a nice Au 55.

beautiful
Great looking coin!
This is a mint error I can get behind. A lamination through the design is not.
Nice coin.![B) B)](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/sunglasses.png)

It"s a beautiful coin and error coins could command good premium I think. Good buy because you love it.
Flawed? Wrong word beginning with an "F" to describe your coin.
More like FABULOUS.

So here is the good news. The coin does not appear to be circulated from those photos. I think the grader saw some remnants of the incomplete strike and decided to call it AU.
WOW! Beautiful coin . . . Love the error.
1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
Definitely not a common error type. Never seen one on a draped bust dollar.
And speaking of errors, remember, "When dangling, watch your participles."
Kind regards,
George
Very nice!
sometimes flaws add character! i really like your coins...no exception here.
Your pictures suck but your coin doesn't. I like it!!
Glossy form cleaning or just the pictures?

Has it been polished or whizzed?
If not, I would think it's better than an AU58.

I need my fainting couch for this one! Beautiful.

Cheers, RickO
nice pick up, i like
The pics do suck as do most of mine.
The coin doesn’t look like that in hand. Not polished and I don’t believe to have ever been cleaned and does shows some wear (still a nice au 58)
The only part that pics show accurately are the planchet cuts (especially the obverse)
Hubala hubala....BOOMSKI!
I opened the thread and thought the coin was a Chinese fake because of the fabulous strike, great coin BIGAL!
