Bust Quarter just for fun.

I don't buy many coins anymore but this one was saying, buy me. Thought it was really nice for the grade.

I concur Idhair, VERY nice for the grade! I really like the look of your new bust quarter. It's the Browning - 2 variety, which has short arrowheads. The Browning - 1 variety has long arrowheads. Nice pick up.

Very nice, I could see it a grade higher.

    How is the luster?

Very nice coin, but I have to mention something.

Doesn't anyone see the slight diagonal hairlining in the coin?

From 10 o'clock to 4 o'clock., both sides of the coin.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm thinking if someone posted this coin raw, there would be more negative posts than just mine.

Gorgeous coin Larry, it reminds me of a P45/CAC I used to own ;)

    Really DE59?
I think you and boyer need some kind of eye correction, can you both point out what you are talking about?

    I can't see it but either way it's ok. It's only a 45.

    Sorry for offending you.

You'd think by your reaction that I criticised the OP's first born.

No harm intended, I'm just stating my non-expert opinion as I do see a faint 'parallel' pattern of marks.

I'll make sure Raybo if I ever comment on your coin(s) I will limit it to positive responses only.

All that does is tell you which direction the light is coming from. A 45 has surfaces scratches, light picks up the scratches in one direction depending on where the light is placed. I have viewed this quarter in hand, it was mine before Larry bought it through a dealer. It does not have a classic surface wipe that leaves parallel hairlines - the scratches are instead random directions and typical of a coin that has seen circulation. It is a gorgeous quarter and CAC beaned it because they think it has not been messed with and it is strong for the grade. I sold it at FUN because I got it in a set and I already had one of comparable quality and did not need the dupe. I knew the dealer I sold it to sold it pdq at FUN, but did not know it was Larry who bought it.

Nice coin...I owned it for 3 years and any hairlines were from circulation as I recall. It's pretty much what spacehayduke mentioned.

Bet it cost close to mid AU money. Looking for one myself.

I hope not - the dealer didn't buy it from me at that level :D
