I liked the coin folder thread so I though maybe a Capitol holder thread would be nice

Some quick shots thru the plastic. Posted this set several years ago but nearly half have been upgraded since. Includes the 16 DDO and 18/7-D (last coins in rows 2 and 3 respectively in first holder) and the 1930 5-leg, 35 DDR-1 , 3-legger and 38 D/S, (all reversed in second holder. When it comes time to sell, a lot of them will get slabbed or re-slabbed, but for now, I like the way they look together.
Put this one together as a diversion from my Buffalo set after picking up the holder and 7 coins for $25 in an antique shop.

No pictures, but I have so many type coins, too many, in the old Capitol single square holders. They take up too much space. But at the time I liked them very much. Still do. Talk about PROTECTION!
I bought these two holders at a thrift shop in Missouri a few years ago... just too cool to pass up as I had seen any like them before. Was fun getting them back to Southern California safely though!!! Thought about filling them up before, but never did. Should still be sitting on a shelf in storage... might break them out some day and put some coins in them.

I just realized I do not have a current pic of Board 4, but trust me that board is up to date through 2017.

I have a set of war nickels acquired along the collecting path....I do not recall any other sets.... I think there is the odd coin or two in a solitary holder..... Cheers, RickO

Needs some upgrading, in my opinion, and some would call me an idiot for trading 7.5 ounces of gold ... but I’ve done crazier _______ , in my life.

This holder was full when I purchased it from a dealer in Rochester NY in 1974.
I thought, I wonder how long it would take for me to find the previous 24 business strikes (1886-S thru 1896-S)? That was what started my obsession with Coronet or Liberty half eagles. Little did I know it would take 38 years for me to accomplish that task with the purchase of a 1892-O in 2012, I still lack the 1878-CC to complete the 24 dates/mints before that and it's all down hill from there.![:p :p](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)

My goal in life [ speaking of coins] is to complete 4 sets.
2 sets have 4 coins each, 1 set has 40 coins, the other I completed almost 40 years ago, in Capitol Plastic
PS Now I see why many people here like the black background for coin photos![ ](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)

some great collections posted here!
I slabbed the coins back in the late 80s. Now that the price of commems has crashed, I should replace them.
Not exactly a Capitol holder, but a Capitol type with the 5 1964-D Carr Peace dollar overstrikes.

I have always liked the short set Buffalo nickels. When kept in box a few years with the white plastic, an attractive peripheral toning occurs.
I couldn't resist this set.

Here is one you don't see every day. For sure, a custom holder. About 20 years ago, I purchased this set complete from a dealer who said the owner had put the set together over a number of years with his help. Was happy to get it.
First photo shows the holder with the vinyl cover that makes it more like a book or album. Didn't need a flannel pouch. I am looking for a replacement cover as the vinyl is brittle and cracking. So far, no luck.
The next two photos are of the obverses and reverses. Some nice cameos in there but no real monsters.
