My two boxers are my kids as were the 5 others I've had over the last 40 years. I have never gotten over any of them as they crossed the Rainbow bridge.......there are still times of tears. I know exactly what you are going through and feel your heartache. Thankfully we have photos, video and a lifetime of memories to console us.

As you can see in my signature, I know what it is like to lose a pet. We presently have three black cats and a Siberian shepherd.

Very sorry for your loss, and thankful for the love she shared with you.

I've lost six Labs in the past 30+ years, the loss is always tough to deal with, especially when they're your only kids.

This is Rizzo, he was born Aug 17, 2001 so that makes him 17 years old, top of the age scale chart for dogs. He is a Papillon and a Pomeranian mix and he's my Bud.

Rizzo looks like he is still enjoying life. :) 17 years...Wow. That's a good long time to have a "Bud". :) Thanks for sharing. :)

Cute dog. That's what our Charlie is. He thinks he is big....barks a lot. But the minute you turn on something like a sweeper... behind the couch he goes. :o

We've lost two Black Lab mix rescue dogs in the last 12 years. I IS very tough! We have two purebred Boston Terriers but we like to balance those with a like number of shelter dogs.

Cam is our baby bull mastiff. We got her after my 14 year old bull mastiff Alabama passed last year. 14.years for a mastiff breed is off the charts long. Alabama was SPECIAL and I miss her everyday. The jury is still out on Cam.

Cam. 105 lbs and growing by the hour. Sometimes I can literally see her getting bigger

jerseycat....you are a real piece of work! I get it....you don't like me and frankly I don't care much for you and your attitude.

If you will notice most members on here have a love for animals and we like each others post on them. When you see "OT" and dogs in the title.....just don't open it....it will make you and the rest of us happy. :)

Maybe jerseycat101 is actually a cat. That would explain things

Dog people... cute pics, but really. I do like @fastfreddie 's Pancho - he has that "I didn't MEAN to do it, maybe if I look really cute they'll let it slide" look down pat.

You know what the definition of a progressive cat person is? We allow dogs to exist as objects of catly scorn.

Last night as I was fixing the dryer, the cats began circling for dinner time. I looked at the Calico and said "I'll feed you when I finish my project. If I trip and kill myself you can feast on the corpse." And she just licked her lips.

Cat people get that... ESPECIALLY if you are owned by a Calico.

We had a near case of snuggling. Neither are snuggly, so this was pretty neat. The office room is being rearranged (hence piles and a piece of furniture in the middle of the room), so the surroundings are a mess. Silly dogs.

Xena is on the bed and is a Spanish Galgo (hunting dog...historically horrible treatment of this breed as well as the other hunting dogs in Spain...don't do google images unless you have a strong stomach).

Homer, on the floor, is an American Greyhound. He managed to be a racing school dropout and is a professional pet. Laziest creature I have ever met...refuses to go on walks as they are too much effort.

DIMEMAN, very sorry to hear this news. I know how painful it can be. We lost our Bosa, my Huskie's puppy, at age ten last August and it's still hard for me to talk about.
