True View/Goldshield service--Grade Guarantee?

With the advanced imaging at PCGS, is it possible now if the coin is cracked out of the holder to present that evidence and get them to put the coin back into the holder, with the grading fees of course? Or don't they allow that information to be presented with submissions? https://www.pcgs.com/goldshield 20 or so years ago you could send a cracked out coin back in with the grading insert and they would take that into consideration. NGC also has a high resolution grading option, probably has no bearing on their willingness to consider previous history? https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/2639/Photo-Vision-imaging-services/

Makes sense but once a coin is cracked out the original opinion rendered is no longer valid! "Standards" change, what allowed as market acceptable changes, and something may either have been missed the first time or the coin is slightly different since it was first graded.
I think it is a great policy and slaps the hands of uninformed folks trying for an upgrade somewhere else. LOL.
I was recently trying to figure out how to solve two problems with PCGS certified gold coins; one had bondo residue the other had parallel brown "tracks" over the obverse. PCGS had graded both MS62. Under the guarantee submission, PCGS would have probably resolved the bondo coin in 2-3 months. My take on that one was that someone was trying to quiet the chatter hoping for a better grade. Coin two would not have been conserved/restored without their fee, as the brown tracks did not fit into their responsibility from what I have seen. I dipped both in acetone and sent them in for grading as I didn't want to wait months for the problem. If they had been True Viewed the dip would not have affected the artificial intelligence points much. I would think that re-grades should be based on standard grading criteria, that would be willing to take previous grading costs into consideration.
Once a coin is cracked out, it becomes a 'raw' coin.....sure, you can send evidence of prior grading, but the coin may have received hairlines or dings while exposed. So perhaps the coin will regrade at the same level, or maybe not. No guarantee once cracked. Cheers, RickO
Doubt it... it would expose too much of the proprietary tech, either way (yes, that's the same coin)(we can't tell)lno, that's a different coin)

Once the coin is cracked out there is "no way" you can prove that it goes with the label. There is "no way" they would ever allow that. I know I wouldn't.
Even with a coin in a gold shield holder, there is a possibility that a regrade will result in a different grade. If a coin was broken out of a holder, it may or may not be scanned by PCGS and searched for in their database, even if the submitter didn't request it. If there is a match, the graders may take that into account, but there's always the possibility that the coin was futzed with after being cracked out, so any previous grade isn't going to be the deciding factor on a new grade.
If you present the previous grading certificate and photo evidence of grading, I'm guessing you'll be met with a "that's nice" and the coin will go through the raw coin grading process as if you had said nothing.
