So what about that coin was appealing to you that you bought that coin. That seems average at best. Just curious.
It's what I call a mistake coin. I thought it was a Large S and I don't like to send coins back because I goofed. You are right...it is just an average white Washie.

Oh I get it I have a few of those myself. At least you ended up with a 66. I have a 1941-S Large S that got body bagged and it was a Large S.
So buying unattributed varieties before you fill your set with common coins is a good idea that way when you make a mistake it does not hurt as bad. I was about 60% through my regular set when I discovered varieties and now I hate being wrong on varieties because I can not use them in my set. I just bought a 44-P in MS66+ and I hope it is the DDO, so we will see when I get it in hand. But I also need the 44-P in my set and did not want a 67 as I think they are over priced when compared to a 66+.

Looks like we work along the same lines. So now I have to be extra careful when looking at 41-S's since I can't use it in the regular slot.

I think he likes fingerprints on his coins! LOL
Later, Paul.
It looks like there might be a partial print beneath IGWT on the obverse. Is this on the slab instead?

Fingerprints actually don't bother me. As stated above this was a "mistake" coin. I have a whole drawer full of these in Dimes.![:/ :/](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)

Is it for sale? Not thrilled about Joe Shmoe's thumb print, but I need a decent '50-S.
Later, Paul.
Still a nice quarter.... looks to even have some mint luster left.... Cheers, RickO

I think fingerprints should be accepted on only 64's and below.
Sorry Paul.....the 50-S is a beautiful Dime and it is a RPM-1.....so it's not for sale.
