I've cracked a $3000+ CAC coin.... the second I opened the package I received back from CAC... as I dropped my Rattler on my ceramic kitchen tiles.... DOH!!!!!

I probably wouldn't, but not for the reason one might assume....
It seems to me that a coin that is graded properly, and CAC'ed, should more often than not be able to get the same (or very similar!) grade and CAC if re-submitted.
My concern would be losing the physical protection of the coin! First there's the cracking process, which might go badly. And albums are notorious for adding slide scratches, and just the act of handling it risks finger prints, dropping, scratching, etc. (Basically, I don't trust my less-than-nimble fingers.)
So, it's really a matter of risk rather than some deep love of the holder, or the sticker....
It costs $46.50 to submit again raw and re-bean, which is 99+%.
Figure the spread and how much you enjoy that album
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." - Geo. Orwell
I never break a slab to put coin into an album. I have been known to pull those little green sticker off the slab though.
Should also mention that I never paid a premium for a cac, I only buy slabbed at greysheet bid or less, if it so happens to have a cac sticker fine but if the coin is gong into my personal collection and not just a flip, that sticker is coming off the slab the second it gets in my hands.
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

Sure. Why not? It's still the same coin, right?
Are all of the negative respondents above simply saying "buy the holder, not the coin"?
Seems like it, doesn't it?

Plus, no assurance that it would reslab or resticker the same as before.

Take it from a pro, 99+% is an observation made over many years.
You may lose a "+" from the TPG, but the re-bean is an effective "lock"
I disagree with your disagree. I would think it would matter a lot on how the coin graded the second time around. And I really doubt that JA is any more consistant than PCGS. They both are all over the place from what I have seen over the years.
I realize people want crack coins for their albums but cracking a coin voiding the grading certificate and hence destroying its value never made sense to me unless it’s one crossing over, etc.
The closest thing I have to an album is a binder with pages for flips I take to shows with raw US and World collector Coins priced in the $5 to $30 range which I will put in my case at a show stacking the pages (after removing them from the binder) in the event somebody wants look at them.
It’s tough making money in coins what with all the online competition, expensive table fees, stagnant bids, grading costs, and bullion trading in a narrow range for ages. Don’t destroy your slabs you paid solid money for for some album craze.
I think a pertinent question would be to ask whether one would ....rather... have a coin they KNOW has been rejected by CAC or a coin that hasn't even been sent in to them.

Yeah no kidding on that.. I recently broke my arm wrist and partial hand. I have 3 working fingers. I was getting an (relatively) new inexpensive coin out of a slip and... tink tink tink, roll, wobble wobble wobble, sadness.
Wife looks at me without missing a beat, and I kid you not says "that's how you're gonna treat everything you buy right?"

Oh for sure. I love her to death. She's my best friend and my rock. 15 years coming up. We've been through a lot especially the last few years. I'm glad throughout all the BS, it's only made us stronger. Our marriage was really tested when we both nearly died in a car wreck 7 or so years ago. I guess most marriages fail during distressing life events.
I'm slowly getting her into ebay and my other selling/trading platforms. She's big on coins but not great on finances. But I'll tell ya, when she does the weekly change counts, she keeps a good eye. A few silvers, some wheatbacks, and one guy used 40% Kennedy to pay awhile back.. making money while making money.
I'm a cherry picker guide away from sitting through a 50lb box of wheat and another box of copper with her.
Spring mushroom season is almost here and I better heal up by then, because these 100 free listing deals are really gonna matter.
Some people collect coins, many appear to collect the plastic that houses the coin. I can't wait till we have a sticker to certify the slab that certified the cac sticker that certified the original slab. Oh and no doubt it's coming. The debate continues.

You are way in the minority, but there is a certain allure and truth to what you say.
