Thank's to Heritage I won the coin I really wanted.
What ever the glitch was that messed up Sunday nights auction I was glad to see them stop the auction and start over last night. First my bid on a coin that I did not want was removed by the staff at Heritage with out any hassle. They also assured me all the lots were going to come back up not just the even number ones.
I can assure anyone that thought the consignors were going to take a hit by doing the auction over were wrong. I watched and the even number lots went for double or triple what they sold for on Sunday night so there was a problem and Heritage did a Great job for the consignors.
Now one of the coins I have been looking for the past 3 years only came available when the number 1 Variety Set Retired from JWB 1040 and it is always kind of sad to see a fellow collector selling his set but does open the door to other collectors. Just a side note to others when selling a set with so many beautiful coin spread it out over a year. There was Many more coins I wanted but it was just impossible to spend 10 grand or more.
This coin has a total population of 9 coins with only 4 of those in MS. I Really wanted this coin even with the bidding approaching twice the cost of price guide.
So I waited for the auction to start and about 20 lots before this coin I threw a nuclear bid of 2 grand. Lucky for me when the coin came up my auto bid took over the lead at 1300 and no one bid anymore. So here is the coin that I have added to my Set. 68 coins to go....... Patience.....

Glad it worked out for you. I think they fixed the issue the best they could but I imagine not everyone will be happy with how things turned out.
Very cool that you got it- an awesome variety.
WTG Tom! There were many coins in that auction that I wanted, but just didn't have the cash right now. I really wanted to bid on the 57 Large D, but didn't. I did get the one on GC I wanted.
So we each got one we wanted.
Nice!
I love winners , unless they beat me.
Congrats.
Tom,
Congrats on the coin. That is a coin I have been looking for also. I love the double leafs on the wreath.

Very nice, congratulations !!!
Great.... glad it worked out for you. And a nice coin as well.... Cheers, RickO
Thank you all for the nice comments. @Manofcoins no idea of a upgrade and I know I would hate to crack it out and it comes back as AU. I am not worried about being number one but just want to complete this set which is a Big Task in itself.
I also figure there is no rush trying to fill in the regular slots as you and others are holding some of the nicest ones that may come available someday. So for now I have been trying to find the Varieties First...........

I just wanted to update this thread, This morning while checking Coin Facts page for this coin I noticed that the MS 63 is NOT THE 802 and is actually the 801. I have sent an email to Mr Hernandez asking him to take that coin out of the coin facts page and also out of the population report. The total pops for this coin is 8 with now only 3 in MS.
