PCGS burning the midnight oil, on a Saturday!

Long Beach Show crossover grades were posted and card was charged at 10 PM Central tonight! Crossovers went 7 out of 8 with 2 upgrades. (Both Fatty's with CAC) The other 3 non-crossover grading orders were good, really good, and bad. (In that order) They posted earlier in the day.
Very happy at the end of the day, with the total result.

are these coins you have owned very long or newer purchases??
Congrats.; I have noticed Saturday activity too in the past; but possibly that could be delayed action, hard to believe they have late Saturday workers. If I were running such a company I would allow people to work as many hours as they want, coin dealers work strange hours too.
Nice results...upgrades are always a nice surprise.... Cheers, RickO
Makes sense. However, not practical. Can you think of the reason?
Also, It won't hurt to work a Saturday when the show is in Long Beach. Much better than being holed up in a room grading at some hotel.
At Long Beach they were running pretty behind with the crossover special. They have the convention center room until at least Sunday so working late on Saturday is no problem for them.
Both. The Fatty's were undergraded, but with the nice color on one of the SLQ, I didn't want to take a chance on a crack with how tough they are on color right now.
I also crossed a Redfield, amazingly toned coin, that I wanted in PCGS. In the Redfield holder, I had a shot since many of them toned nicely. More to come on this coin.
I crossed a 23-S Peace dollar with lovely toning that I knew PCGS would never grade raw, since I tried in the past!
Crossed a 96-O Morgan in MS62 that I bought in a problem holder but knew it was fine. I sent it back to NGC where it straight graded, then crossed it.
Crossed an MS66 $20 gold from an older NGC holder.
The $10 crossover special makes it worth trying on some of the coins you would usually not. I just happened to have a good run.
When my card dings, it is live. They were still working at the show is my assumption.
I would guess the reason for the delayed crossovers is that they have to calculate the 1% fees on top of the standard grading fee. Then they charge your card and the results are available immediately following that.
I'll have to see if they did any trueviews on my coins since I did not order them. It happens though on nicer coins from time to time. That could have slowed it down also.
Dealers are saying the later submissions did much better. I know many of them who went 0-for everything multiple times! They must have had a lot of complaints.
You would think PCGS would be ready for this onslaught. It i not unusual tho for results to pop up so late
I wonder if many of the NGC coins that dealers have at shows are same old-same old? They keep trying every time the $10 special runs and then throw them back in the case for another 5 years of overpriced/overgraded exile?
I was photographing your crossovers until 9pm last night. I’m planning to take the day off tomorrow, but the others in my staff will be working to get your TrueViews online.
