Sarasota Coin show report progress

I did not take pictures this time for my report because I forgot too. But that is a good thing.
This show was so much better then the prior one I forgot I was not at a big show like Fun show. In fact I had a much better experience then I did at Fun.
The parking lot was full but plenty of parking could be found close enough.
Everyone was very nice and the place was filled with buyers. They had very visible security and the tables had a great mix of coins.
Even the guy with fossils and the guy in the corner with buttons and such had folks looking at the goods.

I was very lucky to spend about 30-40 minutes with Gary Lewis and he shared a coin he found at the show. He is such a fountain of knowledge.
I seen several of my favorite local collectors and dealers and proceeded to look for some pickups. First on list was a Trade Dollar but unfortunately those had already sold out. Next I looked for filling some of my holes on State half’s.

Sarasota was the first show I ever attended.
Great venue.
Got an ASE in the mail a month later.
My raffle ticket paid off!

I'll be going tomorrow morning. Went to the one in October, and only walked away with a Hawaiian.
Looking for the Antietam this time.
.
Thanks for the report, I really like the war nickel set and the Danish medal. On his blog, Gerry Fortin says he had a very slow Saturday and packed up early, but was very pleased with the security improvements.
@Kkathyl ....Great report.... Yep... Ladies with wings AND GUNS!!....
Nice pictures as well... Thank you for the report. Cheers, RickO
Packing up early never benefited anyone looking to sell. You could have one buyer come by and clean you out. In fact around 3:30 I was talking to a friend who bought an entire case from a seller just moments before. I will not provide the details of the deal (not mine to report) but will say the coins are worth 7 figures

Wished you have a "GoPro" on you. Thank you for sharing!
That's a cool show. I used to go when I lived there. They also held a nice antiques show in the same building.
I assume it's still in the building by the Van Wezel?
