Here's a sample from E-273, daily coinage deliveries by mint that has been digitized and sent to NNP. It should be available in a few days. Gold is on the left page and silver/minor on the right. Notice reporting of proof coin deliveries.

This also includes the first part of PPIE coinage at the San Francisco Mint.

This image file is fairly large so members can copy it if they wish a more detailed view.

All values are in dollars, not pieces. Foreign coins are reported in the designated national currency.

Here's a detail from the Philadelphia Mint's foreign coin production. Notice Cuban gold coins, and silver/minor proof coin production.

WOW, it's hard for me to believe that in 1911-15 there was that kind of movement in dollars.

Question: Who supplied the gold for the Cuban gold coin currency?

Would have normally come from the island government, but a lot of Cuba's gold came from Caribbean mines and melting under weight US half eagles, which were the primary gold coin of the island.

For specific sources, you'd have to search the bullion records, State Department files, and Cuban coinage records at NARA Philadelphia.

December 20, 1912 looks to have been a busy day. Three different minor denominations minted - Half Dollar, Quarter, and Nickel.

Seems like three different denominations of gold in one day was SOP, though.

A quick look at the records also indicate several production discrepancies. I'll leave it to sharp-eyed readers to find them.
