1955 Roosie Toner

I found this nice toner in a roll of dimes that I had tucked away. The dime is blast white but I just can't capture that and the toning in the same photo.

The areas that are not affected by the toning are blast white.

I guess I do not know exactly what blast white means, but I do remember someone returning a coin to me on eBay (a few years ago) after I called it blast white. They said there was a little toning on the reverse by a couple or the periphery letters.

I see your point. Perhaps it would be more correct to say the coin has flashy surfaces where not toned. I was trying to express that the coin isn't as dark as the photos make it appear to be.

Have you tried natural sunlight on a cloudy day for lighting ? Sometimes that works,but I agree capturing what you see in the camera turns always seems diff when you take the picture. Nice close up's BTW.Here is a shot I tried using cloudy sunlight filtered through a sheer window curtain.
