The Austin Dillon Daytona 500 Penny

Austin Dillon just won the Daytona 500 and in the first interview he told of a fan that found a penny heads up and he gave it to Dillon for good luck. Dillon put it in the car for the race. He only led the final lap after a bad crash with 2 laps to go and won.
That would be an interesting cent to have PCGS slab. My guess is that he'll keep it or it will wind up in a NASCAR museum...
Maybe PCGS should reach out to them for slabbing and get their name on it first.

Now that would be a 'one of a kind'... and imagine the tarnish after all those exhaust fumes start to work...

Silly is so many ways....maybe they could slab every stone the tires touched, too? "Certified" 500 million year old gravel. Free Elvis hair with every purchase!

It was almost surely super glued into the car, just like Dale Sr. Did in 1998. It was on the left side of the dashboard that day, and is still there in the museum.
I tried to convince PCGS that sponsoring a car would have been a good idea a few years ago but they were not interested. You can get onto the sides of a car for a couple hundred bucks and get televised to more than 200 countries. More people in the world watch the Daytona 500 than the Superbowl. I still think it'd be a good idea.
There actually was a team called Morgan-Dollar Motorsports in the early 2000s. That would have been a perfect match.
I made this when I was there last Saturday for qualifying and the Clash.
I'm always a sucker for an elongated coin machine. I usually use pre-82 cents but didn't have one on me.
