Decided to do a 12 coin war nickel set. I have set the prerequisite of MS66 with ad many full steps as I can. Post a war nickel to get me more motivated.

I guess a peace dollar is twenty times as much as a war nickel, eh?
I like that one a lot!

I have a set, now in a plastic display... not particularly high grade, but nice...never did check for FS....Cheers, RickO
I've had this one a lot of years -- PCGS MS67:
I have a set of these and added the 43/2, 45ddr, the 42 proof and a broadstruck example for variety. My avg grade is 65 which made it very affordable

If we were all the same, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

Can't wait to get this group back from pcgs. The whole war nickels set toned together and are fantastic quality as well
Always a fun set to do on any budget
I do agree it's a fun series to collect on any budget. I have way too many of these.
Do the set in PCGS-67. The money difference is not that much. You'll be happy. Once you do a set in 66, you'll want to upgrade to 67.
Dont own any of these anymore, but I saved the pics!
Here's the one for my type set:
It needs a new holder.
I always thought they were a bit underrated. It's a nice, inexpensive sub- series to collect. You can go for white luster, toned, better strikes, woodgrain toned, etc.
It would be a good set for a YN to work on as well.
Agreed.

First time really looking at this since grandma died. She would've been 100 this year. Grandpa put a ton of these together and after he passed she kept filling them. Never found any others. Safely assume they were stolen with all the other stuff those thieves hauled out. Family love until it comes to money.. then it's smash and grab.
Happy to have just this one, as incomplete, filled, and circulated as it is, means more to me than everything else I own.
Very nice.
Hoard the keys.
The basic business strike set is 11 coins - are you including a variety or the 42-P proof?
@davewesen that is correct.
