I would like to own a vintage car or truck but live alone and expenses are high and the remaining money is for my coin collection. So this coin collector takes the city bus. Nice images guys!!

PS my Girlfriend was coming to work one morning in her ‘71 bus and was T boned by a 2 Ton mail truck. The bus went over landed on its side and skidded. The shift lever cut her open and it was a Miracle she survived. VW buses are nice to look at but..............

We say in a bus, your always the first one at the scene of an accident!

The funniest tale I've heard was from the hotrod parts guy I used to do business with. He had a pretty fast Barracuda. He came up on a VW bus and before he knew it he had the pedal to the metal and couldn't pass it! They pulled over and talked. The VW bus had a 440 Magnum sitting in the middle of it!

Warning old thread, but some cool old classics that coin collectors have. I still have a 1939 DeSoto waiting restoration, and have an allocation for a new Cayman GTS. My first car was this 1969 Roadrunner "Vitamin C Orange" that I bought for $700 in 1974, wish I still had it!

I am envious of your incoming Porsche! An incredible car. What color choice and other options?

My first car was a 62 tr3 triumph. I sold it as basket case in 2003 and bought this which I still own! The 92 is to much fun to get rid of but very impractical for Idaho!

Maybe not a "Classic" just yet, but I think it will be before too long. 2007 Boxster, 25000 miles. My FunCar.

Mine is not quite classic, although they don't make them anymore.

Still waiting on the allocation from my dealer, not incoming yet as there is a lot of demand for the last n/a flat six.

My requested config is this - Guards Red, std GTS interior, AU wheels, and PDK which will perform better than the tall-geared MT:

Up in the mountains yesterday in my daily driver. Remember the TV series Northern Exposure? It was filmed here in Roslyn, WA where my grandparents are from. Mural is Marlon Brando from "The Wild One."

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

@BustDM, have you spent more money on your numismatic library, or the Z???

I got back into collecting coins in 1983. My wife had a 1983 280ZX....

Photo taken in the middle of a Minnesota Winter!

I had the '82 280ZX black n gold. Made it to Dallas from north Houston in 2 hours then into Denver in a total of 12 hours. This included stopping to eat at DQ and a couple beer runs and back when the speed limit was 55. The speedometer pegged at 85 so when you let off the gas it took a long time before it left the peg :D

Not any more, but in 1964 I survived a 120mph headon collision between a 1959 VW bug and a 1963 426 hemi plymouth. I received a settlement out of court and I spent it on cars over the next 7 years or so. Here was my selections for 63, 64, 65, 66(my favorite), 68, 69, and 70. The military straightened me out and since have had sensible pickups and suv's since.

Believe it or not, I was most dissatisfied with its power. It was gorgeous, though. After having the 406HP 66 fairlane with twin holley's nothing I owned stood up to it. The 325HP 327 Cu In Camaro was pretty hot but not comparable to the ford. I had so much fun in the 60's with cars and girls I totally let my coin collecting slip to the side and with money to buy most any coin I wanted. Didn't start back until the mid 70's.

It wold be interesting to know what you collect (type of collector) and compare this trait with the
    current car you drive.

Nope, in fact I look homeless
