Cautionary tale on buying PayPal Shipping label

I recently purchased a shipping label off PayPal and after I had printed that out, the buyer bought asked me not to ship since he was looking at more of my coins. He eventually bought more and asked these to be shipped at a different address. I went to PayPal to void the label but it seems you can only do it within 48 hours and so could not do so. I thought the PO would refund the postage, but the lady at the PO said that they can't do it and I need to go online to whosoever issued it for a refund. Okay no problem...called PayPal customer service and they said they can only do within 48 hours and only USPS can now refund! I can dispute the transaction with my card only after 21 days and they too were asking about refund policy of vendor! It seems I am out of money on this one. It is only around 10 bucks but why should anyone be losing any money on the services they don't use?
Please let me know if anyone knows how the refund in this case works.

I’ve had that once. I never received a refund but it was only $3 for me.
Another fun quirk occurs when you print Express Mail (Priority Express Mail) labels, and it waives the signature. If using a private insurance carrier, it might void your insurance. It all depends on your carrier and policy. I know this is off comment, but I thought it might be similarly helpful.
Postage should be able to use on another address. Why not write over the address scratch out barcode. Add additional funds needed if any?

If you use the USPS Click N Ship you can get refunded any time as long as the tracking number has not been scanned. Looks like you're SOL and as a rule USPS folks want nothing to do with online stuff.
Go to the USPS help page and ask for info on how to get a refund for postage purchased thru PP.
I'm not sure you can do this with the labels. They have tracking attached and the address is attached to the tracking.

I get your point but just eat the cost and move on.
Thanks for the inputs. Lesson learned and will use USPS directly now.
You could also be opening yourself up to fraud if you ship to other than the registered address.
Which purchase was thw high value and which the cheap one?
As soon as you pull the label the buyer gets notified the package was shipped....

Good point. I’d be weary about shipping to the other address.
Is the new shipping address verified in PP? Depending upon cost you could always add of the old label to the new order or bill the buyer separately for the cost.
Pitney Bowes handles the eBay & PP generated shipping labels. Refund is only available if cancelled within 48 hours and has been like that for years. Never ship to a different address than the one on record with PP. (voids your protection if there is an issue in the future)
two shipments: one with the nonrefundable label and one with a new label. the second package should weigh less without all of the purchases and help save a few pennies.
As pointed out earlier ship only to the paypal address if you want to keep your seller protection.

You are only covered if you ship to paypal address on file. Be very wary of shipping to alternate address, usually doesn't end well.....for the sender/seller
