The first part of my post is a sarcastic
"spoof." I'm a serious curmudgeon who is not "cut out" for the enjoyment and camaraderie provided on many forums. Therefore, a fun post such as "Guess what I'm going to buy" or "Guess what I finally bought" makes me ill! Who the heck cares? Post your new little treasure and let's GTG or write about it. It is a personal thing and just as a very bad book, I don't need to read it!
Counterfeits come in all degrees of deception. The great ones may even get slabbed as genuine - for a while. While the dreck - that should not fool an experienced professional numismatist - get discussed for pages on an internet forum. This is not a put-down of anyone. We ALL start somewhere. I'm one of those who is still learning. For the contest, a member how shows they have a little knowledge will get a better-executed fake. Someone that does not, may just get an example I collected in the 1950's that was probably made in the 1930's - 40's. Both coins in the giveaway are interesting. > @coin4sale said:

Be careful on this one as genuine coins often have raised bumps and pimples. I cannot count the times a dealer has shown me a genuine coin with pimples and bumps claiming it was a fake!

Rather than using names, I numbered each individual post (first post, and only one from each of you) . Then had the folks in the office pick a number between 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, all the way up... Then I put each number they picked(the finalists) on a slip of paper on a plate and let someone pick the winning number.
The Winner picked: Air4mdc PM me with your address.
I wish I could give away more of these but I collect them and they are like my children....LOL.
