It's not scrap, because it's less than a 50% clip.
Doesn't look silver in the photos, but the OP
has it in-hand. OC on a Straight End Clip like
this is much much scarcer on a silver coin.

That's cool. What's the diameter and thickness?
Size of a nickel minus clip fits almost perfect however thinner than a dime
It being nickel-size and thinner than a dime could be due to the strike, which would expand the metal outward during the absence or partial-presence of the collar.
If that is the case, and it wan't struck on some non-regular planchet stock, then @ErrorsOnCoins is correct.
So based on the weight, you're saying
it's on a Nickel Planchet???
If it were on a nickel, the clip would have
to be about 45% in size, which this isn't.
Does the coin look silver, or nickel?

It's too high for a silver or clad dime,
but it doesn't look like a nickel planchet
to me, based only on the photos.

Very nice off center on a straight end clip.
E o C has it right, as always.

But 2.8 grams weight ??

Looks silver, but to heavy for a silver dime planchet ?? I'm lost
What's up with the weight?
I'm a bit confused too.
It's too high for a silver or clad dime,
but it doesn't look like a nickel planchet
to me, based only on the photos.
Fred do you ever do Vegas shows, I could bring it there to show you it in person
Foreign planchet?
No, I don't do the Vegas shows, sorry....
What color is the coin?
Does it look like a silver planchet or a nickel planchet?
Looks more like silver, I'd say it's silver but I dont have a way to test it.
You can always submit it for certification.
If it looks silver, are you sure of the weight?
Looks just like this and weighed it more than once'
Sorry Brain isn't working right 2.08 grams
Then it be a silver dime
Ever since my seizure started happening my brain isn't just right, and thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it
Mystery solved !
I can leave the office with no confusion
(or no more than I usually have !)
Sorry Fred, I always appreciate your help.
Interesting error... and, as usual, Fred and EOC have the mystery solved... Thanks for showing us... Cheers, RickO
