I am not fully versed in all of this, but “Becker the counterfeiter” was a famous 19th century crook. In the early 1960s some guy started making copies 19th century political tokens. He placed the name “Becker” on them. I almost got caught with one that was copy of the Lincoln rail splitter pieces, but was able to send it back to the seller. I am guess that this piece might be of same origin.

I am not all clear about what he thought he could gain by making these oversized Flying Eagle Cents. The real thing in VF and EF was not that expensive back in the early 1960s.

Thanks for the info @BillJones. The curious intent of the maker just adds to my interest for me. I have a few real flyers but I like to spice up the set with some variety.

Here are a few interesting WR Numismatic anniversary counterstrikes. I took some very quick images just to keep notes. I'll do better images soon.

The 1974-S Clad Proof Ike unfortunately was hit so hard it is somewhat cupped so prolly no straight grade for him.
.
This is the second 2006 ASE counterstruck with this date and an eagle of reverse.........makes me wonder if the coin club president did it himself as this would be an 80th anniversary.

Last is a 1957 Franklin proof with the 75th Ann. counterstrike.
